Amanda's Eyes Review, Tour and Giveaway

Think what you see is what you get? Better think again.

Waking up is the pits when you come to in a hospital with a broken arm, a colorful assortment of abrasions and contusions, and a face swathed in bandages. It’s even worse if you can’t remember what hit you.

The bad and the ugly are crime reporter Amanda “A.J.” Gregson’s business. But learning she had a ringside seat for an explosion that killed two agents of the Continental Intelligence and Investigative Service (CIIS), incinerated an entire block of warehouses, and did so much damage to her eyes they had to be surgically removed? Well, that gives the darker side of life a whole new meaning.

Haunted by elusive nightmares, A.J. waits for her transplant and struggles to remember the events leading up to the fateful night of September 4, 2075. Weeks crawl by without a glimmer, before memory finally floods back the night before surgery, every detail brutally clear.

The explosion had been the work of the Ferrymen.

“The Ferrymen. My not-so-magnificent obsession for more than a year. Only a cataclysm could have made me forget. I guess you could call them hitmen. You could also call Einstein a math whiz. Think ruthless. Think unstoppable. Think killers so proficient ‘caught the ferry’ was fast replacing ‘bought the farm’ in common usage, and you have the Ferrymen in a nutshell.”

The transplant surgery goes off without a hitch—welcome news, because A.J. is raring for a rematch with Hell’s Boatmen. But contrary to popular belief, what you see isn’t always what you get. Take her new eyes, for example. Those baby blues may look perfectly normal, but they possess a power that turns her world upside down—the power to see into the hidden dimensions of the human heart.

When the Sight unmasks the mastermind behind the Ferrymen, the unveiling is as stunning as it is unbelievable. The revelation sets her on course for a second head-collision with evil. Will she survive the final encounter?

~My Review~

I was first struck by the stunning cover, I am normally not that into covers but this one blew me away.  The eye really set the tone for the story that was to come. Kathy DiSanto takes you into the world of Amanda or A.J. Gregson.  A.J.  has been injured in an explosion that causes her to become blind.  But in this futuristic novel medical technology can fashion her a new set, a copy of her own eyes...well sort of...........   Her new eyes have some surprises and sets her on a journey to uncover many truths.  I really loved this book from the start it drew me in and I finished it in only two settings.  Ms. DiSanto gave us a wonderful book that although futuristic, it manages to be completely believable.  The characters were well rounded and developed nicely as was the storyline.  I can not wait to read more from Ms. DiSanto!

A-Rx Weight Loss Pill Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

I was sent A-Rx Weight Loss Pills to review.  I was happy that all the ingredients were natural and not synthetic.  The main ingredients are Garcinia Cambogia and Green Coffee Bean Extract.  These are great weight loss helpers and have even been mentioned on the Dr.Oz show.  All you have to do is take one before or after your breakfast.  I used this product along with my Vegan Lifestyle to lose a total of 10lbs over a 3 week span.  I was not jittery or anything which is great considering I was not willing to give up my morning coffee lol even though it is not recommended to consume extra caffeine with pills like these.   I would recommend these to anyone wanting to lose a little weight and get a great energy boost without having to take a handful of pills lol!  Great product and one I will purchase in the future for sure.

Caramel Matchaccino Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

The product I was sent Caramel MATCHAccino which is a flavored green tea matcha latte.  You mix a scoop of the powder with some milk, ice and blend.  I mixed mine with vanilla almond milk.  Surprisingly you could really taste the caramel flavor over the green tea taste.  I would recommend this to anyone looking to add Matcha into their diet without the strong green tea taste.

Pure MCT Oil Review

Disclosure: I got this product as part of an advertorial.

So the product I was sent to review was Pure MCT Oil.  This smooth coconut oil which has MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides).

"MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) is a type of fat that can be rapidly and easily digested by the body.  Digested easily means that MCT does not get stored as fat like other energy sources do. And unlike other fats, MCT does not require large amounts of enzymes and bile acids for the intestine to absorb it, which results in the body having increased energy."  (website).

Honestly I was worried about taking a supplement that was an oil.  How ever I was pleasantly surprised that the oil had zero smell or taste.  I used the Pure MCT Oil to make my salad dressings!  It was perfect!!!  I also used it to sautee some yummy ginger tofu again with great results.  So wow super easy to incorporate the product into your diet.  I found that using Pure MCT Oil, I had more pep in my step and I actually lost a few pounds without any change in diet so mega bonus!

From the Company:

Product Description
Burn Fat And Increase Energy With Elite Gold's Ultimate MCT Oil found naturally in coconut oil and palm kernel oil, MCT (Medium Chain Triglycerides) is a type of fat that can be rapidly and easily digested by the body.  Digested easily means that MCT does not get stored as fat like other energy sources do. And unlike other fats, MCT does not require large amounts of enzymes and bile acids for the intestine to absorb it, which results in the body having increased energy.  By using MCT Oil in place of other oils and fats that are consumed, most users notice a healthier weight and better body composition as a result.  Several university and professional studies back this research.  However, no more than 4 ounces of MCT Oil should be consumed each day.  Experts also suggest that if you are new to MCT Oil you should start slow, gradually adding up to the maximum 4 ounces over a period of several weeks. When the bottle says Elite Gold, you can be sure that the product you receive is the best available on the market: Made in the USA, Zero Binders, Fillers, or Additives, No Artificial Ingredients... Always. Elite Gold's MCT Oil can be used regularly in salad dressings, smoothies, soups and many other recipes.  Order now and discover the benefits of this amazing fast-acting liquid energy source!

Indications
Medium Chain Triglycerides (MCT's) are fats that are naturally found in coconut and palm kernel oil. MCT's are more easily and rapidly digested than other types of fats, as they require lower amounts of enzymes and bile acids for intestinal absorption. Elite Gold Solution's MCT oil is metabolized very quickly in the liver and is reported to encourage energy expenditure, and not fat storage. Numerous studies suggest that substituting MCT for other fats in a healthy diet may therefore help to support healthy weight and body composition.

Ingredients
100 Percent Pure MCT Oil (MCT Oil from Coconut/Palm Kernel Oil.)

Directions
As a dietary supplement, take 1 tablespoon (15 mL) 1 to 3 times daily. MCT Oil can also be used as a substitute for conventional oils in salad dressings, sauces or cooking as a source of beneficial fatty acids.

The true story of... A woman who laughs at funerals. A gypsy mother who refuses to wear a bra and a father who refuses to leave his first wife. A brother who sleeps under the coffee table and a sister who was kidnapped. A cheating minister, a missing uncle and a feisty, red-headed grandmother who was longing to leave it all.

Buffi always knew her family was unusual, but she was lucky enough to escape that gene. Or was she? Joined by her siblings at the bedside of their dying grandmother, Buffi begins on a journey of self discovery as they recall stories of their youth including juicy family secrets, inappropriate practical jokes, abuse and betrayal. She is on a quest to find Normal but finds herself instead.

It Must be Genetic is about an American family of no particular importance, descendants of the once wealthy and revered Perry clan, but stripped of their family wealth during the Great Depression. It’s full of quirky characters like grandmother Mopsie; a sexy divorced mother of two in the 1950’s who would turn the heads of her conservative neighbors when hosting the best poker parties in town, but who can now be found sleeping her days away in the bed of a nursing home. The story climaxes when Mopsie accidentally reveals a secret that sends her family frantically searching through old documents to find the son she gave up for adoption half a century ago.

It Must be Genetic is about acceptance, forgiveness and the great capacity to love. The story is written from the perspective of a third generation divorced mother, Buffi, who realizes that the very traits that make her family dysfunctional may be the same traits that make it so wonderful. At 64,000 words, it's paced for a quick-and-easy read.

Barbara's vivid and dramatic stories, told with a wicked sense of humor, will make you laugh out loud. She definitely gets what living with rescued dogs (nine of them!) is all about.

When Barbara meets her future husband, Ray, it is love-and dog-at first sight. Over the course of thirty-two years, seventeen relocations and nine dogs, their mutual love of dogs guides them on their unconventional path. The love that Barbara and Ray get in return is literally lifesaving, with one dog attacking a lethal intruder and another discovering Barbara’s cancer. Her own survival story underscores the story of how her dogs become survivors themselves.

Each new dog adds its own dynamic to the family, sometimes upending it. From Turbo (whose Spock-like ears may have provided super powers), Barbara learns about the will to live; Lexington demonstrates incredible patience and an inexplicable love of golf; Madison teaches that laughter is truly the best medicine and that the whole “nine lives thing” is not reserved just for cats; Morgan should be sainted for tolerating Izzy, who is as cute as she is bad. Barbara is certain that somewhere in doggie heaven there is a poster that says “If you are sick, injured or in need of really expensive medical care, FIND THESE HUMANS!”

Claritin-D Review

I absolutely loved Claritin-D! I suffer from terrible sinus congestion and seasonal allergies. I have used other Claritin products in the past and liked them but this was all that and more!!! Soon after taking a tablet I started to be able to breath better due to the congestion breaking up. Most products take a long time to work but this helped within 10-15 minutes of taking it. My only complaint is that you have to purchase the product behind the pharmacist's counter here in Ohio. Which means waiting in a long line for one box of pills. However these work good enough that I am willing to wait for them.
